Saturday February 22, 2025 11:15am - 12:30pm PST
In this session, participants will learn to teach about global change while integrating computer science. They will explore local data, use physical computing to create code, and collect data using weather meters and micro bits through the student lens!

This session will give teachers hands-on experience to complete this project with students to address global change by integrating computer science. We will use "Understanding Global Change" resources developed by the University of California, Berkeley, and the integration of science and computer science using micro: bits in partnership with Rudy Escobar, STEM and Computer Science Coordinator at Stanislaus County Office of Education, and the application of the FieldScopes website for analyzing local student-collected data that aims to foster enhanced classroom engagement in climate action based on local phenomena. Attendees are encouraged to bring a device with a USB outlet.
